My background is one of the reasons why I want bring the project Talking Statues to New York from Copenhagen. My Grandmother Betha Fox came to USA in 1922 from Ukraine. Her autobiography is now part of the book “My future is in America”, New York University Press, 2006. She lived her life in the Bronx and got 4 children. Now they are part of New York City with their own stories.
Taking Statues in New York 2016

Talking Statues is an original Danish project that started in Copenhagen in September 2013, giving voices to statues through modern technology for the first time in the world. It became a success and later was realized in the cities of Helsinki, London, San Diego, Berlin, Chicago etc. Now we got permission to bring the project to New York as a Public Art Project. The mission of the project is to bring new life to history and revitalize statues in cities around the world.
The NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, Division of Art & Antiquities, Municipal Art Society in New York and True Stories ApS have carefully selected the statues for the project.Type your paragraph here.
Talking Statues is an original Danish project that started in Copenhagen in 2013 by David Peter Fox, giving voices to statues through modern technology for the first time in the world. I got the idea in 2012 talking my children to kindergarden and watching all the silent statues in King's Garden in the way. Hans Christian Andersen was the first Talking Statue in the world.
